[NCSG Students] Summer, NASA Based, Educator Training Workshop Announcement

The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) & Space Grant Educator Training 
Workshop is an opportunity for middle and high school teachers and 
administrators to delve into the world of aerospace. The training workshop 
will be an intense two weeks focused on current and past NASA research in 
science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The first week of the Institute will be held at the NASA Langley Research 
Center in Hampton, VA. During this week, the participants will learn about 
current NASA research, visit the center’s research labs and facilities, and 
participate in many STEM-related learning activities. Participants will 
also learn about NASA’s rich educational resources and how they can impact 
the classroom.

During the second week, participants will attend workshops at North 
Carolina Universities. Topics will include Pisgah Astronomical Research 
Institute, astronomy, state competitions, robotics, rocketry, etc
 This 
week will give educators a chance to design a plan to best implement this 
training to have the greatest impact in the classroom.

All housing will be provided. In addition a stipend of $1500 will be paid 
to educators who participate in the entire two-week training workshop, 
except for educators already on 12-month appointments.
