The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) & Space Grant Educator
Training Workshop is an opportunity for middle and high school
teachers and administrators to delve into the world of aerospace. The
training workshop will be an intense two weeks focused on current and
past NASA research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The first week of the Institute will be held at the NASA Langley
Research Center in Hampton, VA. During this week, the participants
will learn about current NASA research, visit the center's research
labs and facilities, and participate in many STEM-related learning
activities. Participants will also learn about NASA's rich
educational resources and how they can impact the classroom.

During the second week, participants will attend workshops at North
Carolina Universities. Topics will include Pisgah Astronomical
Research Institute, astronomy, state competitions, robotics,
rocketry, etc. This week will give educators a chance to design a
plan to best implement this training to have the greatest impact in
the classroom.

All housing will be provided. In addition a stipend of $1500 will be
paid to educators who participate in the entire two-week training
workshop, except for educators already on 12-month appointments.
