Applications for the NC Space Grant Graduate Student Research 
Fellowship Program are now open.  Each year NC Space Grant awards 
graduate student research fellowships to students attending its 
member institutions who are pursuing careers in science, technology, 
engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This competitively awarded 
program engages the future STEM workforce in hand-on, 
aero/space-related, research projects and facilitates the development 
of mentor relationships between students, faculty and the NASA community.

Applications are evaluated based upon the students academic 
achievement, quality of proposed research project, letter of 
recommendation from their research mentor, and exhibited leadership qualities.

Applicants may carry out their research project at their home 
institution (award up to $5,000) or at a NASA center or industrial 
contractor (award up to $7,000). All research projects must be 
conducted under the general supervision of the applicants research mentor.
