Each year NC Space Grant solicits proposals and applications from university personnel to participate in the following programs:

New Investigator Program
Due: February 3, 2014

The New Investigators Program is designed to strengthen North Carolina's aerospace-related research infrastructure by providing startup funding to early career university faculty who are conducting research that is directly aligned with NASA's Strategic Framework.

Higher Education Course Development Program
Closed

The goal of the Higher Education/Course Development Program is to provide funding to develop or utilize new/innovative approaches to improving STEM learning and instruction in a university or community college setting through interdisciplinary and/or distance learning courses. Such courses should provide experiences that will equip the future science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce for careers in Aerospace or related industries.

K-12 Professional Development Program
Due: February 3, 2014

The goal of the NC Space Grant K-12 Professional Development Program is to provide funding to initiate and carry out professional development and training for pre-service, in-service, and/or informal educators. Funded programs will have the primary goal of better equipping North Carolina educators to inspire the future science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce to pursue education and careers in aerospace-related fields.

Informal Education and Public Outreach Programs
Due: February 3, 2014

The overall goal of the NC Space Grant Informal Education and Public Outreach Program is to increase interest in and understanding of STEM disciplines by inspiring and engaging individuals of all ages throughout North Carolina.
