For Faculty

Each year NC Space Grant solicits proposals and applications from university personnel to participate in the following programs (please see individual program links for deadlines, etc.)

New Investigator Program

The New Investigators Program is designed to strengthen North Carolina's aerospace-related research infrastructure by providing startup funding to early career university faculty who are conducting research that is directly aligned with NASA's Strategic Framework.

K-12 Professional Development Program

The goal of the NC Space Grant K-12 Professional Development Program is to provide funding to initiate and carry out professional development and training for pre-service, in-service, and/or informal educators. Funded programs will have the primary goal of better equipping North Carolina educators to inspire the future science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce to pursue education and careers in aerospace-related fields.

Informal Education and Public Outreach Program

The overall goal of the NC Space Grant Informal Education and Public Outreach Program is to increase interest in and understanding of STEM disciplines by inspiring and engaging individuals of all ages throughout North Carolina.
